Supporting Students with Diabetes: New Resources for Schools

A new school year can be daunting for students, whether they are joining a different class or starting at a new school. This challenge can be even greater for those managing diabetes.

In collaboration with the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, the YDA has produced an information booklet titled “Diabetes Care in Schools.” This booklet is designed to provide essential information for parents and school staff, ensuring that children can enjoy school life safely while equipping everyone with the knowledge needed to manage diabetes effectively.

YDA will be distributing this guide to all primary schools. If you would like to obtain extra copies to share with your child’s teachers or need other information in relation to talking to your child’s school about diabetes, please get in touch with us.

Raising awareness in schools

In addition to the booklet, we are dedicated to raising awareness about diabetes in schools. This year, YDA plans to hold more school talks, providing valuable information to both students and staff. If you would like us to visit your child’s school, please contact us for further information.

Let’s work together to create a supportive environment for children with diabetes!
