Let’s show solidarity in times of crisis

In light of the current crisis in the Ukraine, you may be wondering what you can do to help those caught up in it, especially the children and adolescents with diabetes.

According to the latest International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates, over 2.3 million adults are living with diabetes in Ukraine and 15,000 children and adolescents are affected by type 1 diabetes.

The IDF is deeply concerned and is closely monitoring the situation to ensure that emergency relief is provided to people living with diabetes in the country and others that have been forced to take refuge in neighbouring countries.

YDA shares the same concerns and as a member of the IDF, would like to highlight to our members and supporters that we can show our support to this humanitarian crisis via the NGO Direct Relief.

Direct Relief, in partnership with the IDF, has already successfully delivered diabetes supplies to healthcare providers in Ukraine. If you would like to find out more and make a donation, please visit https://www.directrelief.org/place/ukraine/.

These are worrying and unsettling times, you may be feeling particularly anxious and concerned. If you would like to talk, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our social workers on 55978513/98588043.
